onticworks.io

We came out of a robotics lab, not a consulting firm.

onticworks.io builds AI, robotics, and cyberdecks for government agencies and the operators who keep them supplied.

What we build

Three things, one stack.

AI

AI

Agents, retrieval systems, and data platforms that hold up when someone audits them. Built on architecture already published to the IBM Cloud Catalog through IBM Agent Connect.

Government →
Robotics

Robotics

Machine vision, autonomous inspection, drone and sensor capture, and control software for equipment already on your floor or in your field. Our applied lines are agrobotics, drone technology, and durable medical devices.

Robotics →
Cyberdecks

Cyberdecks

Purpose built field computers for the places where a laptop and a cloud connection are not the answer.

Cyberdecks →

The difference

Software that touches the world.

Most firms that can write your app cannot instrument your equipment. Most integrators who can instrument your equipment cannot write your app.

We do both, because the company started in a robotics lab rather than a services practice. The model, the sensor, the controller, and the deck it runs on are designed as one system instead of three vendors pointing at each other.

How we work

Fixed feePriced before we start. It does not move because the work took longer than we thought.
Work for hireFull IP transfer at delivery. Nothing we build becomes a rental.
Weeks, not quartersDelivery measured in weeks. Our shortest shipped build was 25 days.
Senior onlyThe person you talk to is the person writing the code.

Proof

GovPulse

A government intelligence agent published to the IBM Cloud Catalog as an IBM Agent Connect partner, with roughly a 70 percent reduction in manual research time documented in a published write up.

Who we are

A roboticist and a physical systems engineer.

The company was founded by two people who approach the same problem from opposite ends. One built the robots in a university lab and wrote the books on how to teach the field. The other started as an HVAC apprentice at sixteen and spent three decades putting systems into agriculture, government, and industry.

Between them, the model and the machine are never someone else's department.

Ontic Studios

Our consumer studio. A Nintendo Switch developer building interactive economics education, starting with The Purposeful Economist, and an iOS developer with two apps currently in distribution.

It is also the proving ground. Consumer software is judged in the first thirty seconds, and holding that bar makes the government and industrial work better.
